Cannavaro wants Real stay

Fabio Cannavaro is being strongly linked to his first club Napoli, but he has revealed he wants to sign a new deal with Real Madrid.
The World Champion’s contract is due to finish at the end of the current season, and an extension for an additional year is being negotiated.
The 35-year-old feels fit and ready to carry on waving Real’s flag until they win a 10th European trophy.
“I’m pretty much relaxed, just waiting to speak with the club to find a solution before the year ends,” Cannavaro told As.
“Everybody knows I want to extend my stay at Real Madrid. I don’t want to leave because I feel great within this team and my family is very happy in Madrid.
“I am in Real Madrid’s and Italy’s starting XI, which is not easy. But I know I need to pay a lot of attention, and it’s what I do.
“I must say I am in great shape and can feel my team-mates’ and the coaching staff’s respect. I feel “Madridista” and will move on relaxed after we win the European cup.”
